Elements of PCIP Data
Lists the name authority headings for authors, illustrators, and other contributors. Editors are only included for anthologies or compilations featuring multiple authors.
Includes the title, subtitle, and contributor information as it appears on the book’s title page.
Example: If the book has a title such as “Joe Smith’s Guide to Fishing,” the alternative title “Guide to Fishing” may be included here for clarity’s sake.
Includes the edition, if applicable, as well as information about the publisher, series, previous publication date(s), a note about the presence of a bibliography and index, and possibly notes about the intended audience. A summary is included only for juvenile and young adult books.
Lists the LCCN (if available) and all ISBNs associated with all formats of the book.
Lists appropriate subject headings from various thesauruses.
Includes call numbers formulated from the Dewey Decimal and Library of Congress classification schemes.
